AI in Manufacturing: Driving Efficiency and Innovation

AI Summit Seoul 2025 30 min

Session Overview

Adaptability and resilience while maintaining quality and efficiency of production processes become more and more important in the manufacturing industry. Consequently, for minimizing ramp-up times and defect rates, it is essential to find optimal process parameters and automatically control the production processes within the suitable parameter ranges. AI technology are powerful tools for supporting engineers, operators and maintainers of machinery for reaching these goals.

In this talk, we present some concrete AI-driven innovations in this field from the perspective of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, one of the world’s leading organization in applied research. We present examples from metal cutting, sheet metal forming and machine tool industry, where Deep Learning and Generative AI is used for increasing productivity and quality of manufacturing processes.
