Unlocking the Agentic Economy: How Trust Turns Agents into Economic Actors
Session Overview
AI agents are rapidly moving beyond assistance toward making decisions, coordinating with counterparties, purchasing services, and executing transactions. This transition is creating an entirely new agentic economy, but autonomy alone will not make that economy viable, trusted, or scalable.
In this session, Chandler Fang will explore how trust infrastructure can transform autonomous agents into credible economic participants. The discussion will cover verifiable identity, delegated authority, transaction-level risk assessment, accountability, and recourse as the essential building blocks required for agentic markets.
The session will also explain why trust is the foundation needed for agent-based commerce to function at enterprise scale, attract institutional participation, and support reliable interactions between humans, organizations, and autonomous systems.
Key Takeaways
- Why the agentic economy requires more than autonomy to become viable and scalable.
- How Know Your Agent and verifiable identity can establish trust between autonomous systems and their counterparties.
- The role of delegated authority in defining what an AI agent is permitted to do.
- How transaction-level risk assessment, accountability, and recourse can make agent-led transactions credible and governable.
- Why trust infrastructure is critical for enterprise participation and large-scale agentic markets.
